Enterprise Governance
The model illustrated in the Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise Governance chart provides the governance perspective of the Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise. This model enables the JGRE to maintain contact with exiting and emerging technology solution developments for the Combatant Commands and Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps).
The JGRE governance model emerged through strategic planning and redesign in FY2006. With DoD adopting enterprise approaches for acquisition and the stewardship of the taxpayers funds, the military's ground robotics portfolio was aligned with the approach.
The oversight structure has the goal of ensuring support robotic technologies provide the means to close warfighter capability gaps; ensuring coordination between the Services and COCOMs; and emphasizing interoperability and commonality among unmanned systems.
The governance model enables the JGRE to ensure the right technologies are sought through establishing disciplined oversight processes and supporting well informed decision-making.
